Responsibilities

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing neurosurgery team. The APP will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to patients with complex neurological and spine disorders. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, assisting in both surgical and non-surgical management. The APP will support the Neurosurgeons at Bolingbrook Hospital, and cover Hinsdale Hospital as part of the rotation. The primary responsibilities include outpatient clinic twice per week, in-hospital rounds at Bolingbrook Hospital, and surgical assist in neurosurgical cases at Bolingbrook Hospital.

 

The ideal candidate will join a collaborative team comprised of Neurosurgeons and  Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing interpretation for neurosurgery consults
  • Assist in the management of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative neurosurgery patients
  • First assist in the operating room at Bolingbrook Hospital for neurosurgery cases
  • Full Time; 5 days per week plus one weekend per month of call
  • Outpatient clinic 2 days per week (Bolingbrook and Glen Oaks markets)
  • Weekend call coverage, with Attending, one weekend per month
  • Annual Salary: $118K - $128K 

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in Illinois or eligible for licensure
  • Certification as a PA
  • Experienced care in Neurosurgery, preferred
  • First Assist certification, preferred
  • Surgical experience preferred, but motivated candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care
